ABOUT
Make Teal Real, Inc. is a non-profit organization that was started by a group of women that had lost a loved one to Ovarian Cancer in August of 2007. Jan Snyder of Morrison, Illinois was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer (OC) in June of 2006. From that day forward Jan wanted women to become more aware of the disease and its silent symptoms. With the help of Jan's friends and family, they started a golf outing in their area, over a three year period $40,000 has been raised for the research of Ovarian Cancer.
OUR MISSION
Our goal is to provide the community with information about ovarian cancer and to help women learn about the "silent" signs of this disease. Ovarian Cancer (OC) is the fifth leading cause of death among women in the United States. We would like to provide education to women in the area to help them understand the symptoms of ovarian cancer. Make Teal Real (MTR) donates to the Ovarian Research Fund in order for them to someday find a way to detect ovarian cancer in the early stages and to hopefully someday find a cure. MTR also is here to help local women that have been diagnosed with OC in any way they need.
Education, Research, and helping women with this disease is our goal. Listen to your body. Do NOT ignore the symptoms.
